Design Statement

Comfortable spaces console the spirit, strengthen the mind, and inspire creativity. A successful interior is the perfect balance of understatement, eclecticism, and respect for the natural environment.

While this belief guides every project I design, each client brings unique expectations of comfort based on their personal history and individual needs. My goal is to combine color, texture, and light to shape my clients’ experience of their environment at home and away.

My values

Understatement: Beneath the chaos of modern life, there is so much quiet grace and elegance. Whether I’m designing spaces for living, working, or entertaining, I strive to promote comfort and relaxation by minimizing disorder and highlighting the simplicity of natural materials, the beauty of detailed craftsmanship, and thoughtful design.

Sustainability: As a fervent advocate for environmental protection policies, I am constantly searching for the most sustainable interior products. Sometimes this means using a locally manufactured lamp over an imported one. Often it means researching company philosophies and sourcing product from manufacturers that contribute to environmental conservation causes. From the seemingly trivial to the large-scale, every decision counts.

Uniqueness: Whether it’s tailoring interiors to clients’ aesthetic preferences or designing original work spaces to meet specific job requirements, I love to incorporate antiques or salvaged items that would otherwise be overlooked. It’s exciting to blend cutting-edge trends and historically diverse styles while customizing experiences to the needs and personalities of my clients. Antiques and salvaged products bring a uniqueness to each interior that cannot be replicated and also cuts down on a project's carbon footprint.
